Varsity basketball plays two games at Sava Tournament on Saturday

The varsity boys' basketball team played two games at the Sava Tournament at St. Mary's on Saturday. They lost to St. Mary's 43-28 before beating Jiyugaoka 58-47 to bring their overall season record to 2-4.

According to coach Steve Hall, it was "a very uninspiring offensive first half" doomed the Knights against St. Mary's. CAJ had just five points before the intermission and struggled with ball and player movement.

Hall said "the team woke up" in the second half, but the Knights still struggled to finish off their scoring chances at an efficient clip. Enosh led CAJ with 11 points against St. Mary's.

The second game went much better for the Knights.

"We played a much more aggressive, uptempo game [against Jiyugaoka]," Hall said. "We struggled to get back quickly defensively at times, resulting in layups for our opponent. However, it was a solid overall game."

Koji had 21 points to lead CAJ against Jiyugaoka, and Enosh had 14 points.

The varsity team will play against the alumni next Tuesday at CAJ and also on January 4. However, the Knights' next official game will be home against YIS on January 9.
