HS girls' soccer ties ISSH 2-2

The high school girls' soccer team tied ISSH at ASIJ on Saturday afternoon by a score of 2-2. The Knights are now 2-1-1 in league play this season.

ISSH struck first with a goal, which CAJ responded to with a goal of its own. The Symbas then scored first in the second half before the Knights put in another equalizer with 15 minutes remaining.

However, coach Charles Smoker said CAJ squandered too many good scoring opportunities, especially in the second half.

"If we want to be a winning team, we have to put teams away when you have them on their heels, and we didn't," Smoker said. "The girls took ownership for it, which is good. I'm not saying we didn't work hard or we didn't try, but we have to have a little bit different mindset when we're playing teams that aren't quite as strong. We have to be able to put the game out of reach instead of letting them hang on."

The next game for CAJ will be next Tuesday at Kinnick.
