Varsity boys' basketball wins both games on Day 1 of Kanto Classic

The high school varsity boys' basketball team played in the first day of ASIJ's Kanto Classic Basketball Tournament on Thursday. The Knights beat Kubasaki 58-56 and then beat Yokota 37-33.

Varsity coach Steve Hall gave these comments about the games:

"In both games we were able to maintain the lead throughout the game, but every time we would build a comfortable lead, the other team would close the gap. Koji shot the ball well in the first game, making six three-pointers. We had good interior passing in our second game, which led to good scoring chances in the paint."

In the first game, Koji led CAJ with 22 points, and Enosh had 15 points. In the second game, Ty (15 points) and Kyle (10 points) led the way for the Knights.

Varsity's overall season record is now 11-4.. The team plays on Friday at 9:30 a.m. against Guam High and at 1 p.m. against Father Duenas in Day 2 of the tournament.
