GIrls' soccer ties ISSH 1-1

The girls' soccer team remained undefeated on Friday at ASIJ by playing ISSH to a 1-1 draw. CAJ went behind 1-0 at halftime, but Nana scored an unassisted goal early in the second half to finish the scoring for the match.

Coach Steve Hall said the Symbas were easily the Knights' toughest opponent of the season.

"They're quicker, they react faster to balls on offense and defense. They pass the ball better and they have better dribbling skills," Hall said in comparing ISSH to CAJ's previous opponents.

Hall mentioned the Knights' counter attack as a strong point, though, which allowed CAJ to generate plenty of offensive chances.

"[When ISSH had possession], we tried to force the ball to the outside instead of letting them get it in the middle, and we worked really hard on that," added Maika concerning the Knights' strengths. "We also weren't afraid of our opponent, even though they were stronger [than our previous opponents]."

The Knights' overall record this season is three wins, no losses and one draw, with two of the wins coming in non-league games. CAJ plays again on Saturday at home against St. Maur at 10 a.m.
