Varsity boys' basketball beats St. Mary's 49-47

Wednesday night was an exciting one for the varsity boys' basketball team. The Knights went down to the wire at St. Mary's and ended up pulling out a 49-47 overtime victory over the Titans on a game-winning basket by Takara, with an assist from Josh.

CAJ held a modest lead for most of the game, playing well in most facets of the game. However, the Titans kept responding on the strength of their dribble penetration.

"What they did really well was drive to the basket, and that caused us the most grief," said Coach Steve Hall. "Sometimes we did a great job of helping and rotating and other times they were able to get by us."

In the end, the Knights were able to claim the victory with a strong defensive effort to close the contest. The Titans scored only one basket in overtime.

Takara led the Knights with 13 points, and Enosh also had 10. CAJ's record for the season overall is now 7-12, with a 2-6 league record. They'll be back in action again tonight at Yokota.
