Field hockey loses 3-0 to ASIJ

It was cold and rainy, but the field hockey team still traveled to ASIJ to face the Mustangs for a makeup match on Thursday night. Unfortunately, CAJ lost 3-0.

The Knights couldn't get much going toward the ASIJ goal, but the team was resistant toward the attacks from the Mustangs. CAJ totaled 60 defensive saves throughout the game, and coach Victor Eby gave his "best defender" award to both DoYeon and Miyuki.

There was one key defensive difficulty for the Knights, however.

"Our biggest challenge is playing the width of the field since we are not used to a full-sized pitch," Eby said. "We were unable to mark the opponent effectively since they were crowding the goalie space and making it difficult for the fullbacks."

CAJ's overall record this season is now even at 3-3. The team's next scheduled event is the league tournament at YCAC on Saturday.
