JV boys' basketball team loses two games at Kanto Plains Tournament

The JV boys' basketball team wrapped up its season at ASIJ on Saturday in the Kanto Plains JV Tournament. Unfortunately, the Knights lost both games: 38-23 to ASIJ and 40-31 to Zama.

Against ASIJ, the Knights were competitive for most of the game, but a 14-3 first quarter in favor of the Mustangs put CAJ in a hole. Satvik led the Knights with 16 points, and the Knights scored 18 of their 23 points from three-point range.

Regarding the first game, coach Charles Smoker said, "we played well, with intensity and hustle. We will stick together as a team through thick and thin."

CAJ then played Zama in the consolation bracket. In that game, the score was tied at halftime before the Trojans outscored the Knights 15-0 in the second quarter.

Coach Charles Smoker said this about his team's final game of the season:

"We played well and had momentum going into halftime, and then we came out with energy in the third quarter, but shots didn't fall. We were tired, but we made a valiant comeback with our press defense in the fourth quarter to close the gap. Unfortunately, we ran out of time."

Satvik had 17 points, Lukas had seven points and Ken had five points against Zama.

The Knights' overall record this season finished at 1-14.
