HS track and field completes second day of Far East Championships

CAJ's track and field teams concluded their seasons on Tuesday at Yokota, competing in Day 2 of the Far East Championships.

The boys took second place in Division II, falling just six points short (137 to 131) of champion Humphreys. CAJ also got second to Humphreys last year, by a score of 134 to 130.5. 

The girls equaled their sixth-place finish in Division II from last year. However, the Knights did improve their point total from 41 to 49 points this season.

CAJ earned a number of top-eight overall performances at its final meet of the year. Below are all of those performances, with Division II placings in parentheses:

1st (1st)- Boys’ 4x800 meter relay team of Hayato, Tristin, Jeremy and Take (8:15.55, pictured), Kaito in 100 meters (11.19) and 200 meters (23.05)
2nd (1st)- Boys’ 4x100 meter relay team of Wonjun, Philip, Josiah and Kaito (44.22)
3rd (1st)- Jeremy in 3200 meters (10:15.44)
4th (1st)- Philip in shot put (12.05 meters)
4th (2nd)- Annabelle in high jump (1.45 meters)
5th (2nd)- Girls’ 4x800 meter relay team of Krista, Morgan, Natasha and Mariko (11:03.19)
5th (3rd)- Take in 3200 meters (10:17.05)
6th (2nd)- Boys' 4x400 meter relay team of Dominic, Kento, Tristin and Kaito (3:36.33)
6th (3rd)- Philip in discus (34.66)
7th (1st)- Take in 1600 meters (4:39.24)
7th (4th)- Girls' 4x400 meter relay team of Krista, Morgan, Teruyo and Mariko (4:32.66)
8th (2nd)- Jeremy in 1600 meters (4:39.27)
8th (3rd)- Tristin in 800 meters (2:01.73)
