Varsity boys' basketball wins both games on Day 2 of Kanto Classic

The high school varsity boys' basketball team played in the second day of ASIJ's Kanto Classic Basketball Tournament on Friday. The Knights beat Guam High 53-29 and then beat Father Duenas 47-30 to finish pool play with a 4-0 record.

Varsity coach Steve Hall gave these comments on the first game::

"We were able to build a good lead and maintain it for a change! We defended well and did a goal job rebounding. We didn't allow Guam High to get into any kind of rhythm."

Regarding the Father Duenas game, Hall said the Knights started strong again and were able to stay ahead. He applauded the team's defense and rebounding in this game, as well.

Varsity's overall season record is now 13-4.. The team earned a first-round bye in Saturday's bracket play and will play on Saturday at 1:40 p.m. in the second round against the winner of Father Duenas and Yokota.
