HS girls' cross country places 5th at Asia Pacific Invitational

The high school girls’ cross country team placed 5th out of 9 scoring teams at the Asia Pacific Invitational meet on Monday at Urayasu-Shi Sogo Park.

On the 5-kilometer course, CAJ was led by Kiera, who finished 12th out of 83 runners with a time of 21:40.3. Finishing out the Knights’ top five were Anna (23:56.1, 35th), Sion (24:03.3, 37th), Joy (24:33.7, 41st) and Charis (25:08.6, 49th). Kiera earned All-Star recognition for placing among the top 15 runners. Six of the Knights' seven runners had their season-best time on a 5-kilometer course.

"The girls performed very well for us," coach Nate Rudd said. "Their performances were a tough act for the boys to follow."

The Knights will run on Tuesday at the same park for the relay portion of their at the Asia Pacific Invitational meet.
