Boys' soccer beats Zama 6-0

CAJ's boys' soccer team beat Zama 6-0 on Thursday to move to 4-0-1 this season. Coach Keesh Kawaguchi gave the following thoughts on the game:

"Coming into this game, we were only two days removed from the Kinnick game, which was very tough physically and mentally draining for some of the players.

The players pulled together and played another good round of soccer. We had a couple of injuries, including one to key player Takara, who plays defense and midfield, so we had to move things around and I had to ask a couple of guys to play positions that they're not really used to playing. Some of the younger guys had to step in, and they did really well.

Just like last game, the forwards found ways to score. The midfielders distributed the ball really well going side to side, and from our side to their side as well. The defense played tough, just like the last two games, especially Seth, Stephen and Mish.

I'm just happy with their overall effort. It's a team win always, and today we saw a lot of different guys score, assisted by different guys, so that was great to see."

The Knights had a season-high five different players score. Angus had two goals and Kevin, Stephen, Jacky and Enosh each had one. Jacky, Eugene, Angus and Joshua (11th grade) all contributed one assist apiece.

The boys' team gets nearly a week off before playing next Wednesday evening at Yokota.
