HS track and field begins season with meet at Yokota

21 members of CAJ's high school track and field team began the Knights' season on Saturday at Yokota. The team combined to total 33 personal record performances.

With the seniors gone in Thailand and several other team members unable to attend the meet, CAJ had a much smaller team than usual. However, even with many first-time track and field athletes, the Knights performed well in a wide variety of events.

Unfortunately, none of the team members qualified for Far East in this meet, but many athletes placed in the top five of their events. Below are all the team's top-five finishers from the day, including top-three finishers from relays:

Josiah- 1st in 100 meters (11.68), 1st in 200 meters (23.91), 3rd in long jump (5.18 meters)
Mina- 5th in 100 meters (13.99)
Dominic- 5th in 200 meters (25.35), 1st in 400 meters (56.17)
Megumi (9th grade)- 5th in 200 meters (29.75)
Hikaru- 3rd in 800 meters (2:16.24)
Jamie- 3rd in 300-meter hurdles (47.75)
Leif- 2nd in discus (30.52 meters)
Mitsuki- 5th in discus (19.92 meters)
Girls’ 4x100 meter relay team (Mina, Megumi (9th grade), Krista, Mariko)- 2nd (56.63)
Boys’ 4x400 meter relay team (Douglas, Hikaru, Josiah, Asher)- 2nd (4:01.55)
Girls’ 4x400 meter relay team (Mariko, Krista, Emi, Charis)- 3rd (5:03.23)
