Varsity girls' basketball routs YIS 52-16

The varsity girls' basketball team caught fire on offense in the final three quarters on Wednesday at YIS, winning 52-16. CAJ's girls now have a 5-2 league record this season.

The Knights had trouble finding their rhythm on offense in the first quarter with only seven points. But from then on, CAJ passed and shot the ball extremely well and finished with 45 points combined in the final three quarters.

Coach Craig Eby was impressed with how the Knights played following two subpar games since Christmas break.

"We shot the ball really well, which was nice to see after some bad shooting games," Eby said. "But our rebounding was also really impressive. If we rebounded like this against Yokota [last Saturday], we would have won."

Several players played well for CAJ, including Jessica (15 points, 15 rebounds and four steals), Rachel (13 points and four steals), Mitsuki (10 points, five rebounds, six assists and four steals) and Anna (five points and four steals).

The Knights' next game will be next Tuesday at home versus ISSH.
