HS girls' tennis loses to Yokota 4-1

The high school girls' tennis team lost 4-1 to Yokota on Tuesday evening in its first match of the season.

CAJ got a win from Mae at third singles but was unfortunately able to earn wins in the first and second singles and first and second doubles positions.

"Mae was consistent and she played really well," coach Naoko Sawada said. "She was very smart with her ball placement."

Sawada said that even though it was the first match of the season for everyone and the first tennis match ever for many girls, the match was a success.

"All of them did well and stayed positive the entire time, encouraging each other. We lost, but it was a good match."

Below are the results from all of Tuesday's official matches against Yokota:

1st Singles
- Kiara loses 1-7 (forfeit due to wrist injury)
2nd Singles- Jenny loses 6-8
3rd Singles- Mae wins 8-2
1st Doubles- JaeEun and Miyuki lose 1-8
2nd Doubles- Sophie and Eunmin lose 0-8

The Knights will play next Tuesday at ISSH.
