Varsity volleyball wins two games on Day 1 of Far East Tournament

The varsity volleyball team won two games on the first day of pool play on Thursday at its Far East Tournament at Camp Humphreys in South Korea. The Knights defeated Daegu 2-0 (25-7, 25-11) and beat Yokota 2-1 (25-17, 23-25, 26-24) in pool play.

"Against Daegu, we placed the ball well on our serves which resulted in a lot of free balls that we could attack," coach Steve Hall said.

Hall added the following comments about the Yokota game:

"We played well in the first set, but got off to a bad start in the second set. We were able to come back, but we ended up losing. The last set went back and forth, and we were finally able to score the last few points to win!"

The Knights overall season record is now 8-15. They will play MC Perry on Friday at 1 p.m. to wrap up pool play.
