Varsity volleyball loses 3-0 to Seisen

The CAJ varsity volleyball team lost 3-0 (17-25, 20-25, 19-25) to Seisen on Friday night at home. The Knights’ record is now 3-2.

The Knights were frequently having to defend the Phoenix and their strong hitting at the net, and CAJ made several great hustle plays to keep the point alive.

“The team did really well getting to a lot of balls, even if they went out after the first touch,” Keziah said.

However, the Knights had trouble putting enough pressure on the Phoenix defense themselves.

“We weren’t able to turn our [nice recoveries] into an offensive transition, which we’ve been trying to work on,” coach Tanya Hall said. “The ball didn’t get to the setter, where we want it to get to, as much as it did for Seisen.”

Hall added that the team missed a few too many serves.

CAJ’s next game is next Tuesday at home against Zama.
