HS girls' soccer loses 6-1 to Zama

The high school girls' soccer team lost 6-1 to Zama on Tuesday night. The Knights now have a 2-3-1 record in Kanto Plains play.

Coach Charles Smoker gave his complete thoughts on CAJ's loss:

"We were not quite awake in warmups or the beginning of the game after a long bus ride. It showed, as Zama scored less than five minutes into the game. After that, we played better than Zama for most of the first half, as we scored a tying goal. We kept on pressing and had some opportunities. Unfortunately, we had a lapse just before the half and conceded an avoidable goal.

We came out aggressively and attacking in the second half and had some scoring chances, but our timing was a little off. Give credit to Zama, as they are a patient team and they converted when the opportunities were there. We lost 6-1 but kept attacking. We've come a long way, but we still have a long journey ahead of us."

The Knights will play at ASIJ on Thursday to continue their league schedule.
