Girls' soccer loses 5-1 to Yokota

CAJ's girls' soccer team ran into a strong team at Yokota on Wednesday night. The Knights lost 5-0.

Coach Steve Hall said CAJ had a very tough time with a couple of the Panthers' offensive players.

"Any time they were on the ball, it didn’t matter where they were, they were a threat to score," Hall said.

Hall mentioned that this game against a very difficult opponent did help shine a light on some key issues that the Knights must work on.

"One thing we talked about is having our bad habits exposed by a good team," Hall said. "Things like lunging after the ball, not being in good position or not accounting for the speed of somebody when you're slower [than they are]."

Rachel, who played both forward and goalkeeper in the game, had additional points of emphasis when asked about where her team could improve.

"We need to adjust more on our support, knowing when to switch the field and how to communicate on our passes," she said.

The Knights still have a very respectable record of 5-2-2 against varsity opponents this season. They will begin the ASIJ Girls' Soccer Invite on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
