Field hockey beats YIS 1-0

The field hockey team defeated YIS in Yokohama on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 1-0. Reeko scored the only goal of the game about 22 minutes into the first half on an assist from Morgan.

Coach Victor Eby said he was impressed by the team's passing. "We used both wings, and we weren’t just contained to the left side, which typically happens," said Eby.

Captain Megumi (left wing) was pleased that the team's fitness level passed the test that the bigger YCAC field presented. "We did well at running and sprinting into positions. We’ve been doing a lot of running at practices, so that prepared us well.
We didn’t burn out quickly," she said.

Both Eby and Megumi emphasized dribbling skills as the main point of improvement moving forward in the season.

The Knights now have a 2-1 record this season and will be back in action this Saturday at ASIJ. They will play both ASIJ (9 a.m.) and BST (11:30 a.m.) while they are there.
