Boys' soccer beats St. Maur 5-1

The boys' soccer team traveled to Yokohama and defeated St. Maur by a score of 5-1 on Tuesday to earn its first win of the season. Angus scored four goals for the Knights, one assisted by Eugene, and Joshua (11th grade) also put in one goal.

"The day before today's game, we had a really good atmosphere [at practice]," coach Keesh Kawaguchi said. "The guys were meshing and the team was coming together really nicely, with a lot of encouragement and support. It showed in the result today."

Kawaguchi thought the Knights' defensive players stood out on Tuesday for their cohesiveness and patience. He mentioned that they "distributed the ball really well" against the Cougars.

"We did a good job keeping the ball in front of us, since they didn't play that many forwards [in their formation]," said Stephen, a defensive midfielder. "We also did a good job communicating together and moving together."

The Knights now have a 1-0-1 record this season. They will return to Yokohama on Friday to play against YIS.
