Girls' soccer completes first day of Far East Tournament

The girls' soccer team had one win and one loss on Day 1 of its Division II Far East Tournament at Camp Humphreys in South Korea in Monday.

CAJ first lost to Zama 5-0 to start pool play. Then, the Knights defeated Edgren 3-0. Against the Eagles, Kaitlyn had two goals and Rachel had one goal. Keziah had a pair of assists.

Coach Steve Hall noted how much better the Knights played against Edgren than against Zama, mentioning how the team was able to string together a lot of nice passing combinations. The team also picked up its aggressiveness in its second game.

Hall did say, however, that consistency is key in what should be a wide-open race for first place.

"They can compete with any team here. It's not like anybody is really dominating," Hall said. "It's going to be a matter of realizing that they have to play well if they want to compete."

CAJ continues pool play on Tuesday with matches against M.C. Perry (9 a.m.) and Daegu (12 p.m.).
