Boys' soccer beats Kinnick 3-2

The CAJ boys' soccer team pushed its record to an undefeated 3-0-1 on Tuesday night with a 3-2 victory at Kinnick. Coach Keesh Kawaguchi offered the following words about the game:

"Coming into this game, we saw that this would be a season-defining moment for us. YIS (which CAJ defeated 4-1 last Friday) is a tough team, and we saw Kinnick as a tougher team, especially because they are more physically fit, more disciplined on defense and they also play tough and rough.

Our defense played great, our midfielders distributed the ball really well and our forwards found ways to score. We fought very hard all the way to the end of the game. We scored the winning goal about 10 to 15 minutes before the end of the game, and that shows a lot about the character of the guys who played.

We had specific plans going into this game as well. Our guys did a great job executing and not giving up even when they tied the game. I’m proud of the players and I’m proud of everybody."

Angus had two of the goals for CAJ, and Joshua (11th grade) had the game-winning score. The Knights' next game is at Zama on Thursday afternoon.
