HS boys' cross country places 5th at Kanto Plains Finals

CAJ's high school boys' cross country team competed at Kanto Plains Finals at Tama Hills on Saturday. The Knights placed fifth out of eight scoring teams.

Hayato led CAJ by placing 14th out of 68 varsity boy runners with a time of 16:12.6, earning All-Star honors at Kanto Finals for the fourth time in his high school career. William (16:54.6, 19th), Aidan (18:10.6, 39th) Hikaru (18:13.6, 41st) and Ken (10th grade) (18:22.7, 9th out of 78 JV runners) rounded out the Knights' top five fastest times from the meet.

Full results from the meet are available

"We were hoping for some better times, but the varsity guys' team had a tougher day," coach Nate Rudd said. "Hayato did have a wonderful day, though, earning his fourth consecutive Finals All-Star award. The JV runners also had some big improvements. It was good to see their times reflect the effort they've been giving in practice."

The Knights' season is done officially, but the cross country runners have the annual Fun Run on Monday right after school in the gym lobby.
