The three CAJ middle school boys' basketball teams all defeated St. Maur at home on Saturday. A Team won 33-8, B Team won 40-14 and C Team won 23-20.

A Team coach Steve Hall commented on the A Team game:

"Since the game wasn't very competitive, it was a chance to focus on running our offense correctly. The defense showed good improvement since last week's game."

The A Team was led in scoring by Noah with 12 points. Stephen, Minoru and Sho also provided some balance with four points apiece.

B Team coach Charles Smoker thought his team showed strong sportsmanship in a contest that CAJ won handily.

"We're trying to steer our team to be unified amongst themselves and also be mature when we're ahead," Smoker said. "I'm proud of how they've learned how to deal with winning, because I told them that the next time it could be us who are down 20 points most of the game. Hat's off to St. Maur's for not folding when they got down, and to us for being mature in the victory."

CAJ's scoring was extremely balanced in the B Team game. Eastin, Suyoung, David, Josh, Daniel and Yuma all had six points each, and Sunwoo had four points.

C Team coach Lorne Anderson was grateful for a win in a contest where both teams were capable of pulling off the victory.

"We had a back-and-forth game where we were up by one point or down by one pretty much the entire game," Anderson said. "Then, in the last two minutes, we were down by two, but we had a couple of really strong defensive stands and a couple of nice layups. James and SeJin, in particular, played really nicely in the pick-and-roll."

James led the C Team with 10 points. SeJin had five points and Jangun had four points.

The next games for the middle school basketball teams will be next Saturday at ASIJ.
