JV volleyball wins 2-0 against Yokota

The JV volleyball team moved its season record to 2-0 on Tuesday by defeating Yokota 2-0 (25-15, 28-26) at home.

Coach Steve Hall said the team's serving was the No. 1 determining factor in the Knights' victory. CAJ did win both sets, but it had to rally from a significant deficit in the second set because of missed serves.

"As long as we were serving well, we were fine," coach Steve Hall said. "As many serves as we missed in the second set to keep it close, we made some really big serves in the final stages of the game when the pressure was on. It's a good thing to perform well under pressure, but our takeaway was that we needed to serve better earlier on to avoid those pressure situations."

Hall said the team is making clear improvements in the other aspects of the game, so it should be in good shape if it can avoid service mistakes.

CAJ plays next at home against St. Maur on Saturday at 10 a.m.
