MS boys' basketball loses two games versus ASIJ

CAJ's middle school boys' basketball teams played two games on Saturday at CAJ against ASIJ. A Team lost 49-47 and B Team lost 42-27.

A Team's game was close throughout and came down to the final minute.

B Team coach Caleb Cummings took over for A Team coach Steve Hall in the second half due to a varsity tournament game for Coach Hall. Cummings said this about A Team's game:

"A Team played a great game against ASIJ, and it came down to the other team being able to execute their plays and out-hustle us at the end. We should have done better boxing out and rebounding as a team, and also looking to attack the basket instead of settling for bad shots at the end of the game.

But for not having their coach there the second half, they played amazing! They ran their plays well and probably would have come away with a win if Coach Hall was there!"

In the B Team game, CAJ fared well in some areas but still have some areas for improvement. According to coach Caleb Cummings, "we did a great job rebounding and dominating the boards, but we still have to work on our help defense and scoring the easy buckets!"

The teams' records are now 3-2 (A Team) and 1-5 (B Team) . A Team will play at Aoba next Tuesday and all three teams will have a tournament or jamboree next Saturday.
