HS girls' soccer falls 4-0 to Yokota

The high school girls' soccer team began league play on Tuesday night at Yokota. The Knights lost 4-0 to the Panthers.

Coach Charles Smoker saw some strengths and weaknesses for the Knights against a strong Panthers team. He thought CAJ played Yokota closer than the score indicated.

"We actually played pretty good defense to contain them and did a good job shutting down their attacks," Smoker said. "Our biggest problem is that we had trouble getting a passing game going to push the ball up the field."

His overall thoughts on the Knights' performance were positive.

"For our first game on a big field, I'm satisfied with how we used the space on the field. We played with lots of guts and courage and showed some promise for getting better."

The next game for the Knights will be at YIS on Friday.
