HS track and field competes at Yokota

Sixteen members of the high school track team competed at Yokota on Wednesday night in a final opportunity to qualify for Far East. Some of the Knights’ athletes went specifically to qualify, while others just went to improve their best marks.
Even in windy and rainy weather, CAJ had Raven (100 meter hurdles) and Megumi (300 meter hurdles) both qualify for Far East in new events. The team combined for nine personal records.
Below are the top-five individual and top-three relay showings from the meet (Far East qualifying marks have an asterisk):
Josiah- 5th in 100 meters (12.20), 3rd in 200 meters (24.27) Kento- 4th in 400 meters (54.76) Dominic- 5th in 400 meters (55.13) Tristin- 1st in 800 meters (2:03.43*), 3rd in 300 meter hurdles (45.45) Morgan- 3rd in 800 meters (2:37.82) Raven- 3rd in 100 meter hurdles (18.88*), 4th in high jump (1.35 meters) Megumi- 5th in 300 meter hurdles (53.00*), 4th in long jump (4.15 meters) Philip- 3rd in discus (32.30 meters) Boys’ 4x400 meter relay team (Kento, Dominic, Tristin, Jordan)- 3rd (3:45.59*) Girls’ 4x400 meter relay team (Krista, Morgan, Natasha, Mariko)- 2nd (4:43.32)

The high school track team has just Finals (5/12) and Far East (5/21-5/23) remaining. Both meets are at Yokota.
