HS girls' cross country wins against St. Maur and loses to Zama

The high school girls' cross country performed well at the Tama Hills lower course 5k on Saturday. The Knights defeated St. Maur 15-41 and lost 19-41 against Zama to move their season record to 2-2.

CAJ's top five varsity runners were Kiera (22:07.1, 14th out of 85 runners), Sion (24:13.9, 47th), Joy (24:50.9, 57th), Anna (25:29.1, 64th) and Charis (25:54.7, 67th). Full results from the meet are available
here.

CAJ had many runners competing at the 5k distance for the first time ever. Even so, the team pushed through for some good performances.

"It was a mentally tough course, and we had given them some warning about that," Rudd said. "I think they did a good job running wise races, starting with a first mile pace that wasn't too fast."

The Knights will run the upper 4.4-kilometer course at Tama Hills next Saturday.
