MS cross country team earns three wins at Tama Hills

CAJ's middle school cross country runners ran at the Tama Hills two-mile lower course on Saturday, having much success. The girls' team still doesn't have enough runners to score against other teams, but the boys' team won by forfeit to Zama and NIS and defeated St. Maur 20-35.

GyungWon placed 11th out of 117 middle school boy runners with a time of 12:54.6. YJ (13:39.8, 22nd), Kosuke (14:19.6, 42nd), Kade (16:49.3, 95th) and SeWon (17:06.8, 101st) rounded out the Knights' top five. On the girls' side, Kalista was 30th out of 104 runners with a time of 15:44.3, and Anna was 85th with a time of 19:01.1.

"[The middle schoolers] showed that they've gained some experience," head coach Nate Rudd said. "Especially some of our newer runners seemed like they've gained some experience knowing how to pace themselves. They did a lot better this week compared to last week."

Full results from the meet are available

The Knights will compete again next week at the Tama Hills upper course that is 3.3 kilometers long.
