MS girls' basketball plays total of four games at YIS and St. Maur

CAJ's two middle school girls' basketball teams each played a pair of games on Saturday in Yokohama. A Team lost to YIS 54-17 and beat St. Maur 49-28, and C Team lost to both YIS (30-14) and St. Maur (30-9).

A Team finished third place in league play after its two games today and now has just its May 4 tournament remaining. Co-coach Steve Hall expressed his thoughts on the A Team's performance on Saturday:

"We lost to a very strong YIS team in the first game. We played competitively in the first half and then fell apart in the third quarter. Against St. Maur, we were able to convert St. Maur turnovers into easy baskets. We did a good job attacking the basket and finishing."

The C Team finished its season 3-3 after the two losses today. Here were co-coach Tanya Hall's words on their games:

"We had a very hard time running our offense against the aggressive defense of YIS. Against St. Maur, we couldn't finish the season with a win, but the girls improved so much during the season! I'm proud of them!"

The A Team's tournament on May 4 will be at ASIJ.
