HS boys' cross country beats Yokota and loses to Kinnick

The high school boys’ cross country team earned one win and one loss at the Tama Hills lower course on Thursday. The Knights beat Yokota 24-37 and lost 15-48 to Kinnick.

On the 5-kilometer course, CAJ was led by William, who finished 12th out of 91 runners with a time of 18:48.3. Finishing out the Knights’ top five were Ken (11th grade) (18:58.7, 18th), Aidan (19:24.4, 26th), Ken (10th grade) (19:51.5, 32nd) and Go (19:52.9, 33rd).

Coach Nate Rudd was generally pleased with the team's performance on the course, highlighting the performances of Ken (11th grade), Ken (10th grade) and Aidan.

"The guys did pretty well, also," coach Nate Rudd said. "They seemed to do well in terms of pacing, showing that they have confidence in the course and in knowing where to push."

The Knights’ next official meet will be on October 21 and 22 at the Asia Pacific Invitational in Chiba. However, there are optional meets for high school runners on Saturday, 10/5 and Saturday, 10/12.
