MS Soccer A Team nearly completes comeback against NIS, but loses 4-3

The middle school soccer A Team had an exciting home game on Tuesday evening against NIS. CAJ went down 4-0 early in the second half, but the team proceeded to score three consecutive goals while allowing none. Unfortunately, the Knights couldn't quite get a fourth score and lost 4-3.

Coach Keesh Kawaguchi had some thoughts on the performance from his team:

"I always tell my players to 'play well', not 'win the game', because I want them to learn to do things the right way. I believe winning is just a reminder are in the right process with the right approach. It is just a benchmark, not the be all and end all.

Our players played exceptionally well tonight in the second half, rallying from down 4-0. It really felt like we won the game in the end. They played their hearts out, and I applaud them for it.

I want my players to remember this game trust that they are in the right process. I want them to remember the intensity they played with in the second half. I want them to remember to approach every minute of our practice and games with the same heart because the Scriptures teach us to engage in 'whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord' who is worthy of the best of our efforts in all we do."

The three scorers for the Knights were Hugo, David and Stephen. Stephen assisted David and Joel assisted Stephen on their goals.

The A Team's next game is on Thursday at 5 p.m. It will be another home match, this time against Aoba.
