Varsity boys' basketball completes second day of Far East Tournament

After a one-point loss to M.C. Perry on Monday, CAJ's varsity boys' basketball team responded with a vengeance by blowing out Edgren 57-29 on Tuesday morning. The victory gave the team a ninth-place finish in the Far East Division II Tournament.

CAJ had four players with at least eight points, including Josh with 11 and Enosh with 10.

The Knights were able to get their offensive attack going right away with aggressive dribble penetration that opened up the rest of their offense.

"We drove the ball a lot early on, which got us a lot of points inside," Jo said. "They started sagging in and then we got a lot of open shots outside on passes from the key outside to the corner."

Coach Steve Hall noted that the Knights' defense was able to stop the Eagles' offense from developing the type of inside-out attack that CAJ had gotten from its own offense.

"They weren’t able to get much going inside, and they weren’t hitting many of their shots outside," Hall said. "We were able to just grab the defensive rebounds and go."

The Knights' overall record this season is now 8-14. They will participate in the combined Division I and II tournament starting tomorrow. CAJ will play at 8 a.m., and its opponent has not yet been revealed.
