MS soccer A Team beats Aoba 15-0

The middle school soccer A Team won its first game of the season on Saturday at home against Aoba. The Knights won by a significant margin of 15-0.

Coach Charles Smoker said Aoba was missing four key players and actually had only 10 total players available to participate in the game. CAJ played against the Jaguars 10-on-10 and took advantage of a depleted Aoba squad.

"This was a good win for the team, and the guys were able to show good restraint and self control on the field despite the situation," Smoker said. "Now we need to refocus for two tough games next week, since we're facing must-win situations the rest of the way if we want to play into the top half of the bracket for the tournament. "

For the Knights, Suyoung and Ray each had three goals, Simon, Daniel, Eastin and Nathan each had two goals and J had one goal. J had three assists, Chris and Kono had two assists each, and Eastin, Suyoung, Noah and Ray each had one assist. Kono was in goal for CAJ.

The Knights' next games are at home against St. Maur and NIS next Saturday.
