Girls' soccer loses to Kinnick 4-0

The girls' soccer team wasn't able to stay undefeated on Tuesday night as it ran into a dominant Kinnick squad. The Knights lost 4-0, with the Red Devils scoring twice in each half.

Despite Kinnick's two second-half goals, Coach Steve Hall noticed a definite change in the Knights' play after halftime. The Red Devils' final two scores came from an own goal and a free kick.

"At the beginning of the game, we were slow to adjust to the patterns that they were doing, but little by little, we made adjustments," Hall said. "In the second half, it was much better."

Kaitlyn noted the importance of both skills and tactics when discussing how to attack a strong Kinnick defense.

"There were opportunities for us to score, but we need to learn and practice more on how to get through people and move so people can pass the ball to each other," she said.

The Knights' season record is now 4-1-1. They will play in the Sakura Tournament at Komazawa on Friday.
