"We couldn't be in Japan and do what we are doing without CAJ."

"We appreciate the dedication of the teachers and staff of the school."

Christian Academy in Japan was founded in 1950 by missionaries who wanted to provide a quality, Christian education for their children. Since that time, God has graciously blessed the school with visionary leaders, qualified staff and a very supportive community.

The school is operated by a board of directors comprised of representatives from six mission organizations, two at large members, the head of school, and two auditors. Regular communication is maintained with other mission boards to ensure that the school can meet the needs of the missionary community. Children representing more than 25 missionary organizations currently attend the school.

Today the school continues a working partnership with missionaries and thus plays a critical role in the missionary effort in the country of Japan. The campus is located in Higashi Kurume in the western suburbs of Tokyo.

In addition, through the office of School Support Services, the school provides a valuable help to those missionaries who:
  • Wish to home-school their children
  • Have their children enrolled in Japanese school and wish to supplement this with Bible and/or other curricula
  • Would like to receive counsel on the best approach for education for their child(ren)
